Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-01-01

Last Updated: 2026-06-24

MeowMouse ("the App") is developed and maintained by Lai ChengHui("we," "our," or "us"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how MeowMouse handles local app data and license activation data.

1. Data Collection and Storage

MeowMouse keeps its core shortcut functionality local:

  • All settings and preferences are stored locally on your device only.
  • We do not collect shortcut configuration, mouse actions, app-switching activity, window contents, or keyboard input.
  • We do not use analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs in the App.
  • If you buy or activate a license, the App communicates with our license server only for license activation and license validation.

2. Accessibility Permissions

To provide its core functionality, MeowMouse requires Accessibility permissions:

  • These permissions are necessary to detect mouse actions and enable Space and app switching.
  • The App only uses these permissions for its intended functionality.
  • No data accessed through these permissions is collected, stored, or transmitted.

3. License Activation and Validation

When you activate or validate a MeowMouse license, we process the minimum information needed to confirm that the License Key is valid and to enforce the licensed device limit. This may include:

  • the License Key you enter, which is used to look up the license and is stored server-side as a cryptographic hash;
  • a device activation reference generated by the App, stored server-side as a cryptographic hash;
  • an activation token issued after successful activation, stored server-side as a cryptographic hash;
  • optional technical metadata sent by the App, such as platform, device name, and app version;
  • activation, validation, replacement, revocation, and refund-related status timestamps.

We use this data to activate your license, validate continued access, support transfer to a replacement Mac when allowed, prevent unauthorized sharing, handle support requests, and process refunds or license revocation when applicable.

4. Purchases and Email Delivery

If you purchase a license from our website, we process your email address, order details, payment provider identifiers, license status, and email delivery status so we can complete checkout, send your License Key, provide support, prevent fraud, and handle refunds or disputes. Payment details are processed by the payment provider; we do not store full card or payment-account credentials.

5. Third-Party Services

MeowMouse does not integrate analytics tools or advertising networks. Website purchases and License Key emails may rely on payment, hosting, database, queue, and email delivery providers that process data only as needed to provide those services.

6. Children's Privacy

MeowMouse is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information.

7. User Rights and Data Control

Local settings can be managed directly within the App and are stored only on your device. Subject to applicable law, you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of purchase, support, or license activation records associated with your email address or License Key. Some records may need to be retained for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, accounting, or legal compliance.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
